Greetings one & all & welcome to our site. My name is Dave & on the next few pages, I will hopefully give you an insight into our small business & our lifestyle.
Changes
I previously worked in the UK for a major High Street Bank, for just under 30 years. Health problems, predominantly stress related, became a major force, & my wife, Sally & I, felt we had to find an escape route from the 'rat race'. We therefore decided to sell up & emigrate to France, where we operate a small business & manage a small mixed fishery.
Retail Details
The business deals in Angling supplies, rigs, flies etc, together with Angling Coaching, predominantly in the summer months. We also rent out the fishery to visiting anglers (details later). I qualified as an angling coach with the Professional Anglers Association in June 2000.
Family Life
We live in the Deux-Sevres Department of Western France, in the Poitou-Charentes region, where we have a small holding which provides all of our fruit & vegetable requirements. We are also accompanied by Chickens, Rabbits, two black Cats (Meffi & Salem), & a recent addition of a Siberian Husky/Beauceron cross who answers to the name of 'Owen'. Whilst I arrange the coaching side of activities; Sally looks to the animals & the crops.
Online Store
We are also hoping to commence an online store, to supercede our ebay store, which has been closed due to the prohibitive charges that ebay are now making for small business!!!
